Could you be Read for Good’s new Grants and Trusts Senior Officer?

Read for Good is looking for an experienced Grants and Trusts fundraiser, who is keen to develop their career in a national charity. You’ll be working as part of a skilled and experienced trusts and grants team to develop relationships with our impressive portfolio of existing supporters as well as researching and identifying new opportunities. Alongside managing your own funding relationships you’ll be confident working flexibly to support the team to achieve. If you have a passion for matching grants and trusts funders to emotive and impactful projects, this is the role for you!

Key responsibilities

  • With the support of the Head of Fundraising, prepare and submit high quality and engaging applications for support to mid-level trusts and foundations
  • Build strong relationships with existing and potential funders via email, telephone and face to face to maximise our partnerships
  • Deliver exemplary stewardship of trust supporters, including timely thanking, reporting and updates tailored to individual supporters’ needs
  • Ensure the integrity of all our data on our CRM, and administrative systems
  • Identify new potential funders, in consultation with our Grants and Trusts Manager

Person Specification

Ideal skills and experience:

  • Previous experience of preparing and submitting successful written applications or proposals
  • Ability to portray our programmes in creative and compelling ways
  • Strong research skills to discover new prospects and understand what funders are really looking for
  • Confident and engaging telephone manner and accurate and creative writing skills
  • Excellent attention to details and accuracy
  • Experience of achieving personal fundraising targets
  • Ability to prioritise demanding workloads and support the team’s priorities as required
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
