Job Title: Partnerships Manager
Salary Range: £36k – £38k pro rata (£21,600 – £22,800 actual) per annum
Hours: 22.5 hours (0.6FTE) per week to be worked flexibly

Job Purpose
The post-holder will build and develop new relationships with individuals and organisations who may become donors for NW Hearts Charity or who could realise they have aligned, similar interests that could lead to mutually beneficial partnerships. These mutual interests are not predefined; the post-holder will rely on creativity and initiative to develop these relationships. The medium-term result of these relationships will be to develop a range of income streams with a focus on corporates, major donors and high net worth individuals that will have a leading role in the sustainability and growth of NW Hearts Charity, developing a range of income streams with a focus on corporates and major donors and high net worth individuals. Separately, the post-holder will also cultivate local key opinion leaders and influencers who could promote NW Hearts Charity’s profile and interests, without necessarily directly resulting in new income streams.
In close collaboration with the Operations Manager and Trustees, you will actively develop new ways in which these new partners engage with NW Hearts Charity. These strategies could include bespoke fundraising plans and Charity of the Year partnerships, methods for companies to maximise their giving, such as through challenge events, in-aid-of events, employee fundraising and corporate team days. You will also bring your own ideas to how these partnerships should best work effectively.
Separately, you will also cultivate local key opinion leaders and influencers who could promote NW Hearts Charity’s profile and interests.
This is an excellent development role for a partnership or relationship manager, someone experienced in business development/startups or an experienced fundraiser looking to make their mark in a dynamic and growing charity.
Role Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
- Support the Operations Manager and Trustees to establish NW Hearts with a strong reputation as an ethical and effective fundraising organisation in the region
- Lead on efforts to achieve organisational fundraising targets and KPI’s
- Develop novel and creative partnerships and relationships with companiesto generate sustainable income for NW Hearts Charity
- Identify and research potential corporate prospects, developing a robust corporate partnerships pipeline with SMART delivery plans
- Identify and cultivate leads with high net worth individuals who may be in a position to become major regular donors and supporters
- Develop relationships with local key opinion leaders and influencers who could advance the aims and profile of NW Hearts Charity
- Provide support and encouragement to members of the public who want to raise funds for NW Hearts Charity
- Represent NW Hearts Charity at fundraising events, networking opportunities and external meetings
- Work flexibly (including occasional evening and weekends) to ensure you can successfully deliver the agreed objectives of this role
- Demonstrate a commitment to the charity’s core goals and mission
- Adhere to NW Hearts Charity’s standards, policies and procedures
Other Responsibilities
- Design, test and launch fundraising campaigns
- Support the Operations Manager with the promotion, communications and marketing activities of the charity including the innovative use of social media/content creation, our charity’s website, conventional advertising campaigns and face-to-face promotional events

Applicants will be expected to demonstrate the following experience, skills, and attributes.
Essential
- Proven track record of building, developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with individuals, corporates and other stakeholders that has resulted in sustainable income
- Outgoing, collegiate, flexible and self-motivated individual, comfortable working in a small team environment
- Ability to manage conflicting priorities effectively and ensure that deadlines are met
- Outstanding communicator with the ability to develop relationships and partnerships quickly
- Excellent IT and presentation skills
- Access to transport in order to travel in and around the Greater Manchesterregion to attend meetings and events
- A suitable environment for home working
- Strong commitment to NW Hearts Charity’s mission and approach
- Willingness to engage in continuous improvement and development activities
Desirable
- Knowledge / experience of charities
- Fundraising experience, including developing new income streams
- Knowledge of the legal requirements surrounding fundraising and fundraising best practice
- Knowledge / experience of charity communications, marketing, social media and content creation
- Experience of legacy fundraising and marketing
- Experience of using a CRM system for logging and tracking fundraising activity
