Jessie May was established in 1996 as a children’s hospice at home service. Throughout the South West Jessie May nurses provide support to children with life limiting conditions in their own homes.

Job purpose

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and highly motivated Trust, Grant and Statutory Manager to join the Jessie May fundraising team. This is a key position within the team securing currently £500,000 income on an annual basis from trust and grants.

Tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Research creatively new prospective grant, trust and statutory and other funding sources
  • To broaden and develop the pipeline of applications
  • To develop the trust, grant and statutory action plan and contribute to the overall income generation plan
  • Develop and submit high quality funding applications
  • Coordinate and supervise the small trust, grant and statutory mailings
  • Ensure funders receive appropriate level of acknowledgement and recognition and feedback on the monitoring of their funding

Person specification to include:

  • At least two years’ working in a similar role in the charitable sector
  • A sound knowledge and understanding of trusts, grants and statutory funding sources
  • Experience of developing and implementing donor stewardship programmes, putting the supporter journey at the heart of the strategy
  • Proven track record of meeting fundraising targets through trust, grant and statutory funding. Evidence of large gifts and multiyear donations
  • A proactive approach to thinking creatively around fundraising
  • Ability to network effectively internally and externally
