Job Title: Community Fundraiser

My client, KEMP Hospice is looking for an experienced Community Fundraiser, with a proven track record in the sector, to join their team. The Hospice need £1million each year to provide their services and more than 70% of their income is reliant on support from local communities and through fundraising activities.

KEMP Hospice is an adult day hospice, based in Kidderminster, providing support to patients, families and carers dealing with life limiting illness and bereavement across the whole Wyre Forest. Established for over 35 years, KEMP is not only well loved by the community, but it really is a great place to work, where staff are encouraged use their strengths to succeed and to shine.

The Hospice are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic individual, a generalist rather than a specialist, with the ability to inspire the Wyre Forest communities to support in raising the funds the Hospice needs to carry out its valuable work.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Identify and develop new fundraising relationships, as well as supporting existing ones, at a local level, partnering with individuals, corporates, our fundraising ambassadors and community groups such as schools, colleges, lodges, sports clubs, churches, rotary etc. in order to maximise income and supporter involvement.
  • Develop and manage a programme of locally based fundraising campaigns and collections which promote community giving.
  • Manage specific projects, initiatives or third party events developing project plans, monitoring and evaluating progress against objectives and budgets and reporting as appropriate to the Head of Fundraising.
  • Develop and support new volunteer networks and fundraising groups across the Wyre Forest.

Person specification to include:

  • Proven track record in a charity fundraising position with experience of delivering agreed income targets and working to budget.

  • Ability to inspire and motivate others

  • Experience of working with and managing volunteers

  • Appreciation of the challenges faced by a small charity
